Songwriters at the Ship is a brand new event from our friends at Mellowtone.
This is a series of intimate shows, each featuring a trio of songwriters in the candlelit basement of the Shipping Forecast on Slater Street.
The first night is taking place on Thursday 6th November 2014 and entry is only £4 when the doors open at 8.00pm or in advance from Skiddle.
The launch event sees performances from Rosenblume, SheBeat, and Joe Kelly (details below).
The following session on Thursday 4th December features Cavan Moran, Stephen Reilly, and Matt Barton.
ROSENBLUME
Anyone who saw Rosemblume playing in the Sandon Room at this year’s Above the Beaten Track couldn’t fail to have been impressed. Peter Guy wrote “Pure unadulterated singer-songwriting gold, with rich acoustic sounds and a bluesy tone to his voice, easy listening at its finest.” and Janice Long described the music as “Absolutely gorgeous”.
SHEBEAT
SheBeat is a Liverpool singer songwriter. Expect tales of romantic misadventure and perfect portions of hum-a-long acoustic folk pop. 60s influences mix with modern day troubadours PJ Harvey and Norah Jones.
SheBeat will be launching her new EP at this special event.
JOE KELLY
Joe Kelly is a rock ‘n’ roll, blues and folk singer-songwriter influenced by the likes of Tom Waits, Serge Gainsbourg, Leonard Cohen, Randy Newman, Bob Dylan, The Kinks, Howlin’ Wolf, and The Velvet Underground.
